Cologne

Like our time in Heilbronn, visiting Cologne was all about seeing friends! We were so excited to stay with Brigitte and Helmut. They live in this beautiful home that dates back to the early 1800’s in Cologne. It was the closest we had felt to being ‘home’ in the trip so far, especially with theContinue reading “Cologne”

Berlin

We had some trouble making up our minds of where we wanted to spend New Years. We talked about Prague, Munich, Amsterdam, etc. Ultimately we decided to go all out in Berlin! In Berlin, we tried to be as strategic as possible since we knew our time there would be a bit more expensive, andContinue reading “Berlin”

Heilbronn

We had finally made it to Germany! This stop was an exciting one for us, because one of my great friends lived here. Mike had been living in Germany for about 2 years and had been nice enough to let us stay with him for quite some time. It was such a great feeling ofContinue reading “Heilbronn”

Bratislava

After Budapest, we had difficulty deciding where to go next. We had already booked a flight out of Vienna to go to Stuttgart, so we narrowed it down to 2 options of where to be prior than that. We could go directly to Vienna and explore there, or go to Slovakia and stay in Bratislava.Continue reading “Bratislava”

Budapest

We ended up taking a bus from Zagreb to Budapest. It was a really simple and was only about 15 Euros each. Upon arrival, we decided to get a 7 day public transportation card. This card is about 14 Euros each and is completely worth it. The city of Budapest is massive, and to reallyContinue reading “Budapest”

Zagreb

Following Dubrovnik, we needed to get to Zagreb so we can take a flight out to Budapest. We ended up staying just a night in Zagreb, because I really wanted to get to Budapest for my birthday! What we had read about Zagreb, was aside for the museums and architecture, there wasn’t a whole lotContinue reading “Zagreb”

Kotor

The Bus ride from Bosnia to Montenegro was one of our Highlights of the trip. Once you get out of the fog of the Sarajevo mountains, you continue the journey at a high altitude through different terrain. There’s mountains and lakes on all sides and we followed a winding road for a few hours. ItContinue reading “Kotor”

Belgrade

We took the Bus from Sofia to Belgrade. It was a comfy, simple FlixBus that was extremely cheap. The tickets on average were approximately $5-$15. In my opinion, it was the best and easiest way to get between countries. From the moment we arrived in Belgrade, it had a different vibe from anywhere we hadContinue reading “Belgrade”

Cappadocia, Turkey

We took a quick flight from Istanbul to Cappadocia. Flights were really the best option due to timing and costs. Rainier was dying to go here so we ended up moving some things around to make this a priority. So this city is famous for the hot air balloons that take off everyday. Unfortunately, becauseContinue reading “Cappadocia, Turkey”

Istanbul, Turkey

Istanbul was one of my favorite cities from this trip. It was so big that I wish we would have stayed longer. Although the weather wasn’t great, the people and experiences made up for it. Fun Fact: Istanbul is the only city in the world to border 2 continents. Part of the city is apartContinue reading “Istanbul, Turkey”
